Gringa Where?

This blog was specifically created to keep my friends and family updated on my adventures in Masatepe, Nicaragua where I will be working for two months as a nursing intern for International Teams.

It's also worth mentioning that I have taken two (much shorter) trips to El Salvador and that I left part of my heart behind.  Hopefully, another longer trip is somewhere in my future.

2010: We were building a house for a group of missionaries that were about to move into the community.  The structure behind us is not a house, it's actually an outhouse.  I'm not exactly sure what I'm hammering either, because we built the house with brick.  But yea, work happened.

2010: Four local boys from Sitio Nuevo where we built the house.  I chose this picture because of the boy in the middle (Fefo) and the one to his right (Christian).  They're two of the most hilarious, hardworking, creative boys I've ever met and I miss them daily.

2013: Fefo and Christian on my second trip two years later.  They love to tease, as you can see.  Sort of a blurry picture, but filled with so much joy.

2013: A few of the people I have been blessed to share El Salvador with.  Scott, in the center, is my youth pastor.  I won't even try to describe here the impact he has had on my life-- that would require a whole new blog.  On the far right is Kyle, who later did an internship in El Salvador and who I get the blessing of processing my trips aloud with.

Rosa and I cooking pupusas (a staple Salvadoran dish).  Rosa is one of the most special people I've ever had the blessing to encounter for reasons that, again, would require their own blog.
I've been on a few other adventures, but that should give you enough background to go on.
